EA Sports Announces eLibertadores 2024

EA Sports has officially confirmed the return of the eLibertadores tournament for its 2024 edition.

This esports event is the virtual counterpart of the prestigious South American football competition, where the best FC pro players of the continent will compete for “la Gloria Eterna” in FC 24.

eLibertadores 2024 Registrations Open

The excitement builds as EA Sports revealed that player registrations will open today, November 7th, just days after the conclusion of the actual Copa Libertadores final between Fluminense and Boca Juniors, with the Brazilian team taking home the trophy.

Registrations are open on the Battlefy platform until December 8th with the first phase of the competition to start a day later.

Brazil to Host eLibertadores 2024

Brazil, the nation that has produced the last three eLibertadores champions, is set to be the host country for the upcoming tournament, part of the EA FC Pro competitive circuit. While the host city is still under deliberation, with Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo as strong candidates, the exact month of the event in 2024 remains unannounced.

Based on the previous editions, we can expect the final phase of the competition to kick off in February 2024.

Brazilian Dominance

Brazilian players have shown remarkable success in past tournaments, with victories by Pedro Resende in 2021, Paulo Henrique “PHzin” in 2022, and Gabriel “Baxada” most recently.

EA Sports, which has separated from the FIFA brand, has introduced EA Sports FC, continuing the tradition with full licensing rights to club crests, kits, and the clubs of CONMEBOL competitions following a renewal of their agreement in June. Unfortunately, just like in previous years, all Brazilian clubs feature generic rosters in-game due to licensing issues with the Brazilian Football Confederation.

For more details on the tournament and registration, players are encouraged to visit the official EA Sports FC Pro website.

Stay tuned for further updates on the exact dates and the chosen host city for what promises to be a thrilling showcase of virtual football talent in South America.
