EA Reveals their New Esports Ecosystem – FC Pro

EA Sports presented their new esports ecosystem for FC 24 dubbed as FC Pro.

The end of EA’s partnership with FIFA also meant the end of the FIFA Global Series that allowed players to compete at the highest level on the esports scene. With the launch of the new franchise, EA had to re-organize their esports program, and thus FC Pro came to be.

FC Pro is a unique program focusing on elite 1v1 competition, showcasing top players on their journey to the FC Pro World Championships. It offers a streamlined schedule and direct access to the World Championships for leading competitors from EA and League Partner competitions such as ePremier League or eMLS. Here’s the breakdown of the program.

FC Pro Calendar

The FC Pro competition calendar is organized into distinct competition windows, starting with the global FC Pro Open from game launch to February, where top competitors advance through a series of competitions to a weekly event over eight weeks. Those not qualifying can still compete in online regional competitions.

From February to April, domestic competitions through league partners will determine national champions who will qualify for the FC Pro World Championships. This period allows clubs to scout the best players to represent them in prestigious national tournaments.

The FC Pro World Championships in June will see the top four from FC Pro Open and top players from League Partners competing in a 32-player event to crown the World Champion of EA SPORTS FC 24.

FC Pro Open

FC Pro Open begins with in-game competition through Ultimate Team Champions /Rivals, where qualified players can compete on the FC Pro Open Ladder, a purely 1v1 competition with a real-time leaderboard.

Top finishers in each regional ladder will compete in the FC Pro Open Regional Qualifiers for a chance to advance to the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier, where 64 players will compete in November for the 16 available places reserved for the FC Pro Open Championship.

FC Pro Leagues

Running from February to April, FC Pro Leagues will feature League Partner competitions globally, allowing players to represent their favorite clubs on the virtual pitch. More details about these competitions will be shared by Football League Partners as the season begins.

FC Pro World Championship

Concluding the season, the FC Pro World Championship will be a singular event, marking the first time EA will host a World Championship event, with more details to be revealed in the near future.

Viewership Rewards

The viewership rewards for FC Pro Live esport events in Ultimate Team 24 will be available via Objectives instead of the Swaps section of the SBC menu, making it easier for players to see and access upcoming events and their associated rewards.

Players will be rewarded based on the amount of time spent watching each event, with Objectives related to the duration of viewership. Rewards can be claimed via the Objectives hub upon entering Ultimate Team after watching an event, eliminating the need to submit a token into an SBC.

EA SPORTS FC 24 is set for release on September 29th and will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. EA Play members and Ultimate Edition owners will be able to play the Early Access on September 29th.
