The Raków Częstochowa representative will be the only player from Poland competing in the first-ever FC Pro World Championship this summer. In addition, the victory earned him a spot at the group stages of this season’s eChampions League, where he will be joined by runner-up Riptorek.
Road to the Finals
The sixth edition of the PKO BP Ekstraklasa games, which is the largest Polish competition, was organized under a license granted by EA Sports. The event kicked off last October with a series of OPEN tournaments.
The PRO regular season then started on 18 February and saw representatives of partner teams go head to head for several weeks. The six top players progressed to the finals where they were joined by the best from the Play-offs, two leading players of the INEA 1. Liga Games and the OPEN phase champion.
So, a total of twelve players took part in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa games finals that went underway over the weekend.
The participants included new faces and veterans in Polish esports scene such as Miłosz “milosz93” Bogdanowski, Szymon “blachu” Błachowiak, Maksymilian “Zalewskyy” Zalewski, Kacper “Furman” Furmanek and Riptorek.
After a thrilling contest in the Grand Final, it was Neerven who denied former champion Riptorek the opportunity to win a second consecutive PKO BP Ekstraklasa games title.
