Join us as we unravel the secrets behind EA Sports FC 24 Clubs meta height and weight recommendations, helping you create a Virtual Pro that stands tall among the competition.

Goalkeeper

One could say that setting up the GK position is relatively straightforward with “just” six PlayStyles available, aimed to improve crucial skills such as shot-stopping, distribution of the ball, and handling. The essential PlayStyles include Quick Reflexes, Far Reach, and Footwork, which should be a priority due to their significant impact. Beyond these, considering PlayStyles like First Touch or Pinged Pass can aid in better ball movement under pressure, depending on your style.

The primary objective is to unlock all Goalkeeping attributes on the skill tree, maximizing these stats and enhancing the chances of making those crucial saves. After unlocking all these attributes, it’s recommended to invest in Pace for faster rushes outside of the box and Agility for quicker direction changes, which can always come in handy.

  • Height: 6’7″
  • Weight: 149 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Far Reach+
  • PlayStyles: Far Throw, Footwork, Cross Claimer, Rush Out, Quick Reflexes, First Touch

Fullback (LB, LWB, RB, RWB)

As it has been during the last couple of years, full-backs are offensively-minded wide players that offer support on defense. Therefore, it’s better to use PlayStyles that help going forward but also find the balance to be sure that you’re not neglecting defensive duties, as those wide areas can be lethal if you’re facing fast wingers.

A good fullback should offer defensive security while also being an option with their wide attacking presence. To achieve this, we recommend spending skill points on a mix of Defending, Pace, Stamina, Strength, Agility, Dribbling, Crossing, and Curve; Shooting is not necessary.

The best PlayStyles are Whipped Pass, Rapid, and Quick Step. This combination will allow you to become extremely quick when performing overlaps, while also giving you the ability to deliver pinpoint crosses to your teammates.

  • Position: LB / RB/ LWB / RWB
  • Height: 6’1″
  • Weight: 123 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Whipped Pass+
  • PlayStyles: Jockey, Intercept, Rapid, Quick Step, Technical, First Touch

Center-back (CB)

A CB needs to be a solid defender who can make decisive tackles, anticipate the game with smart interceptions, and clear the ball to avoid complications. This being said, we want to be physically strong while also having decent pace and being capable of passingthe ball from the back.

All Defending PlayStyles are good but Jockey, Anticipate and Block are the strongest overall, as they can turn you into your opposition’s nightmare. As long as you have good positioning, these traits will do the heavy work for you, forcing attackers to give up and move in another direction instead of taking you on.

It’s worth maxing out the Defending tree while also not forgetting about Pace, Strength, Aggression, Agility, Ball Control, Stamina, Jumping, and Heading Accuracy. In case you’d like to be more technical, consider spending points on Short Passing and Long Passing. These will let you manage the ball quickly and even kickstart counters for your team.

  • Height: 6’4″
  • Weight: 167 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Anticipate+
  • PlayStyles: Jockey, Block, Intercept, Bruiser, Aerial, Long Ball Pass/Power Header

Defensive Midfielder (CDM)

As a DM you need to be a fantastic defender while also being comfortable with the ball at your feet and being able to read the game. Your main focus is to dispossess the opponent and safely pass the ball to a teammate. While there may be some similarities with the builds for defenders and DM, most players will want their holding midfielders to be even more comfortable in possession of the ball. Having this in mind, Defending PlayStyles are still the top priority, but Passing and Ball Control traits are worth investing in too.

Anticipate and Intercept are absolutely vital on a defensive midfielder, while Jockey is another good option to have in consideration. When in possession, the likes of Pinged Pass and First Touch will help you to distribute the ball under pressure and avoid getting caught out. Don’t forget about Strength, Vision, Short Passing, Long Passing, Acceleration, Agility, Balance, and Aggression.

Having all these considerations in mind, we recommend using a LB/RB build at CDM as some defensive midfielders have been found sluggish. So here we offer you 2 different builds depending on your playstyle:

Type 1

  • Position: LB/RB
  • Height: 6’1″
  • Weight: 167 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Intercept+
  • PlayStyles: Anticipate, Jockey, Block, Bruiser, Relentless, Long Ball Pass

Type 2

  • Position: LB/RB
  • Height: 6’0″
  • Weight: 121 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Long Ball Pass+
  • PlayStyles: Anticipate, Jockey/Quick Step, Block, Bruiser, Relentless, Long Ball Pass

Center Midfielder (CM)

As a CM, you’ll be the creative hub of the team. Responsible for distributing the ball effectively, controlling the tempo of the game, and creating goal-scoring opportunities; while also intercepting passes, tackling, and disrupting the opponent’s attacks.

Game Intelligence: Central midfielders need a deep understanding of the game, with the ability to read the flow of play, anticipate the opposition’s movements, and make split-second decisions.

  • Position: CM
  • Height: 5’11” (180 cm)
  • Weight: 152 lbs (69 kg)
  • PlayStyle+: Long Ball Pass+
  • PlayStyles: Incisive Pass, Technical, First Touch, Anticipate, Relentless, Trivela

Attacking Midfielder (CAM)

If you choose to be a CAM, you’ll become your team’s primary creator, but this isn’t just a passing role. A good CAM should also be able to score while also being able to open up opportunities with dribbling and knowing the right time to pass the ball.

This makes it one of the most customizable positions in Clubs, based on your preferred approach and the role you’ll need to have on your team. Nonetheless, the PlayStyles First Touch, Long Ball Pass, Incisive Pass and Technical are always worth including on any CAM build.

As we also did for the CDM position and after noticing the basic CAM position stats aren’t the best, we’ll use two winger types to balance it out:

  • Position: LW/RW
  • Height: 5’8″ / 5’7’’
  • Weight: 167 lbs / 149  lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Long Ball Pass+
  • PlayStyles: Incisive Pass, Technical, First Touch, Relentless, Trivela, Finesse Shot

Winger (LW, RW, LM, RM)

A good winger has to be quick and skilful, while also being able to cause problems to the best of defenders and also having the confidence to cut inside and either score from a distance or thread passes to teammates This applies if you’re more of a traditional wide winger or a modern inverted winger who combines well with their fullback.

The most recommended PlayStyles for a winger this year are Rapid, Technical, and Quick Step. This will allow you to maximize Ball Control and Pace, turning you into an absolute menace for defenders.

  • Position: LW/RW
  • Height: 5’11”
  • Weight: 154 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Quick Step+
  • PlayStyles: First Touch, Technical, Trivela, Whipped Pass, Rapid, Flair

Striker (ST)

Although there are all kinds of striker builds, we have decided to actually focus on two kinds of goalscorers: pacey and target man. Both can be extremely effective depending on the mechanics of your team and depending on how they will feed you with chances.

That being said, when playing as a striker you are going to want to use Finesse Shot, Trivela, and First Touch to enhance your goal scoring abilities.

Pacey strikers, who will be capable of carrying the ball and taking on defenders, could prioritize Rapid and Technical. On the other hand, target men want to be big and physical, so you will want to exploit Power Header and Aerial. Here we offer you 3 different builds for the position, including 2 pacey strikers and 1 target man:

Type 1 Pacey Striker (ST)

  • Position: ST
  • Height: 6’0″
  • Weight: 160 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Quick Step+
  • PlayStyles: Finesse Shot, Chip Shot, Trivela, Technical, Rapid, First Touch

Type 2 Pacey Striker (ST)

  • Position: ST
  • Height: 5’9″
  • Weight: 125 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Quick Step+
  • PlayStyles: Technical, Quick Step, Rapid, First Touch, Finesse Shot, Chip Shot

Target Man (ST)

  • Position: ST
  • Height: 6’6″
  • Weight: 171 lbs
  • PlayStyle+: Aerial+
  • PlayStyles: Acrobatic, Finesse Shot, Chip Shot, Trivela, Power Header, Press Proven
