eFootball v4.5.0 Update Removes Mexican League and Adds Auto-Lock for Player Cards

Konami has released a new update for eFootball, version 4.5.0. While it’s not a massive patch, there are a few key changes that players should know about.

The most noticeable update is the removal of the Mexican League from the game which was recently reported to return in the EA Sports FC series. Most of the league’s clubs are no longer available, though a few popular teams like Club América, CD Guadalajara, Pumas, and Tigres UANL are still in the game. These teams can now be found under the North and Central America region in the Others category.

Another change is that all player cards, except Standard ones, will now be automatically locked when acquired. This should prevent players from accidentally modifying or discarding valuable cards without noticing.

There are also a few visual updates and gameplay fixes. Here’s a full summary of what version 4.5.0 brings:

v4.5.0 Updates

  • All newly acquired player cards, except for Standard cards, will be locked automatically.
  • Various in-game data updated
  • Licenses updated
  • Most clubs from the Mexican League have been removed
  • The following teams remain in the game under North and Central America > Others:
  • Club América
  • CD Guadalajara
  • Pumas
  • Tigres UANL
  • Updated elements include:
  • Uniforms
  • Boots
  • Stadium graphics
  • Cinematics and animations
  • Player photos, graphics, and data
  • Commentary
  • 196 Faces
  • 447 Free Player Faces removed

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where the Player Controls option was missing in VS AI matches during Challenge Events and Theme Events
  • Fixed a server communication error that could happen when deleting a skill
  • Objectives already completed could incorrectly appear as Next Achievable Objectives in eFootball League
  • Deep Line roles for midfielders or forwards would not work properly in some situations
  • Backup Player info would not display correctly after signing from a Pack or Top Menu banner
  • Poor goalkeeper clearances leading to own goals in some matches
  • Player movement would break after performing a Super Cancel while trapping the ball and preparing a kick

This update mostly cleans up smaller issues and adds some quality of life improvements. Losing most of the Mexican League may disappoint some fans, but hopefully it signals that Konami is preparing for new content ahead of the summer football season.
