5 Best Teams to Start Your Career Mode in FC 24

Starting a new career in EA Sports FC 24 Career Mode? Wondering who to manage? Which team should you dedicate days and even months of your precious life to? This is arguably one of the toughest questions at the beginning of every EA FC franchise.

To assist in your decision, we have put together the best 5 teams from five different countries you can take the reins of to make the most of your new journey in the new game.

1. RC Celta

LaLiga is definitely one of the best leagues to start a save in FC 24 Career Mode, following their partnership with EA Sports earlier this year, the league boasts new player face scans and real stadiums. Therefore, Celta Vigo makes for one of the best options to pick in this division for this reason and many others.

Firstly, they play in one of the most competitive and exciting leagues in the world, which means you’ll be up against some of the best teams and managers. Secondly, Los Celestes is a team that’s known for their attacking and fluid style of play. This can be really fun and rewarding if you’re able to get the team playing in this way.

Thirdly, Celta has a passionate fan base in their authentic Abanca Balaídos arena that’s used to support the team through thick and thin. And lastly, they have never won the league title nor Copa del Rey, although they have reached the final three times in the latter. The club’s best league finish was in the 2002/03 season, when they managed a 4th place and qualified for the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League, where they were eliminated by Arsenal in the Round of 16.

Are you the manager to deliver them their first ever major silverware?

2. Leicester City

It is still hard to believe that the 2016 Premier League champions who many thought they would be fighting for a Champions League spot in the previous season saw them instead fight for survival in the Premier League which ultimately saw them get relegated to the Championship.

The Foxes are certainly a team that’s used to ups and downs, which can make for an intriguing and challenging Career Mode experience. Despite losing majority of their top players like Youri Tielemans and Harvey Barnes, the team still possesses a lot of talent and experience with the likes of Jamie Vardy, Wilfred Ndidi and Patson Daka.

Relegation certainly has left a lot of room to improve, but with the right manager, the team has potential to grow and develop into a powerhouse in the Premier League. They also have a great stadium, the King Power Stadium, which is an exciting place to play. In addition, the team is based in a vibrant and dynamic city, with a strong football culture, which can be a very engaging and fun place to manage a team.

3. TSG Hoffenheim

One of the best reasons that make Hoffenheim a go-to team in Career Mode is they are a relatively small team in the Bundesliga, which means you’ll have the opportunity to challenge some of the biggest teams in the league, like Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Another reason that makes Hoffenheim a good choice is their transfer policy. They’re known for finding and developing young talent from around the world. This can be very rewarding for a Career Mode manager, as you can find hidden gems and develop them into world-class players.

This can also make the Career Mode more challenging, as you’ll have to be really smart about your scouting and player development. In reality, they have a really strong youth academy that’s produced some amazing players in the past such as Niklas Sule, Jonas Hoffmann and Gregor Kobel. Their average age squad in FC 24 is 24 with the likes of young players, Bischof and Baumgartner who have 86 and 84 potential respectfully.

However, that is not to say the team doesn’t value experience entirely since their squad bolsters the likes of Baumann and Kramaric who are in their early 30s and rated in the 80s. Finally, Hoffenheim also has a beautiful authentic stadium, which adds to the overall atmosphere and enjoyment of the Career Mode.

4. Udinese

Similar to Celta de Vigo and Hoffenheim, Udinese is a relatively small team in Serie A, which makes them a bit of an underdog in the league. This makes the Career Mode more challenging and exciting, as you’ll have to fight hard to get results against the bigger teams. Udinese also saw their authentic stadium, Udinese Arena, added in FC 24 for the first time. When you play in this beautiful, detailed, and well-designed stadium, you will feel truly immersive.

Another thing that’s fascinating about Udinese is their history of developing players from around the world. They’ve had players from countries like Colombia, Chile, Egypt, Nigeria, and more. This means you can really have a diverse and exciting squad as you develop players from different countries.

On top of that, the Friulians have a relatively low budget, which means you have to be very smart and efficient with your transfer budget and wages, as you have limited resources to work with. You have to be very careful about who you sign, as you don’t have the luxury of signing expensive players.

5. LOSC Lille

In a league so hugely dictated by one mega rich club that is Paris Saint-Germain, any manager that will take over any other French team will face an uphill battle, despite the Parisians performances in contemporary seasons.

With a budget that would fail to cover the signing of a PSG benchwarmer, the future manager of Lille will also need to make full use of their scouting networks to find footballers who would be willing to come to Lille and at the same time immediately fill the gaps in a mostly ailing squad. Luckily, however, Lille bolsters a decent mix of young and experienced players with the likes of Jonathan David and Rémy Cabella, which can make the experience more dynamic.

For example, you can develop the young players and see them become world-class, while also relying on the more experienced players to provide leadership and stability to your team. This can make for a fun experience, as you try to develop your squad and win trophies with a limited budget and in competition to a monster that is PSG. Similar to Udinese, Lille saw their authentic stadium added in FC 24 for the first time. This should add to the immersion and experience of your Career Mode save!

FC 24 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
