The FIFAe World Cup is stepping into uncharted territory with the introduction of Football Manager into its competitive lineup
Announced in June, the first ever Football Manager World Cup is set to kick off later this month and the organizers have shared the details on how the tournament will unravel.
Tournament Structure
Starting on August 28th, the group stage spans four days, with 20 players representing different Member Associations (MAs) and the host nation managing identical clubs. This stage is designed to test long-term managerial strategies over multiple virtual seasons.
Group Stage
- Day 1 (August 28th): Players set up their clubs, prepping for the season ahead.
- Day 2 (August 29th): The first season kicks off, with players guiding their clubs through three intense sessions.
- Day 3 (August 30th): The second season mirrors the first, pushing players to refine their tactics.
- Day 4 (August 31st): The third season concludes, setting the stage for the knockout rounds.
Throughout the group stage, players will regularly interact with the media and community, holding press conferences and interviews to discuss their strategies and respond to feedback.
Knockout Stage
On September 1st, the top four players move on to the knockout stage, competing in a Fantasy Draft format. They draft 25 players for their final squads and play two-legged semi-finals and finals to determine the winner.

Ranking and Community Involvement
Players are ranked based on their league standings, cup progress, and managerial ratings, with extra points for major achievements, ensuring a fair competition. Community and expert feedback have been crucial in developing this ranking system to accurately reflect the necessary skills for Football Manager.
FIFAe Fame Your Game Cup
In addition to the main event, there’s the FIFAe Fame Your Game Cup. This is an eFootball mobile showcase event where local players can compete. Qualifiers are on August 29, and top players will face global eFootball mobile leaderboard players on August 30.
