FC Pro Open: All Match Week 4 Results

Group D of the FC Pro Open featured some of the best players in the Esports scene. With Tekkz, Levi de Weerd, Fouma, The1OS and Obrun all in the same group, predicting who could emerge victorious on Monday evening (December 18) was never an easy task. In fact, the group was dubbed the ‘group of death’, with plenty of drama expected.

Just like in Match Week 3, each player in Group D was also given 9,000,000 coins to assemble his whole squad, ahead of Match Week Four. However, whereas Group C players were allowed to pick icons only, the participants in Group D selected a maximum of two items per leagues, with the icon stipulation no longer applied.

Without further ado, let’s find out how things went down in Match Week Four, where Tekkz surprisingly failed to record even a single win.

How Things Unfolded

Round 1 saw the widely-tipped Tekkz take on Levi de Weerd in what was a rematch of their last meeting a few weeks ago at the FC Pro Open Global Qualifier. Whereas Tekkz walked away victorious in November, this time it was Levi who was all smiles at full time after securing a 4-2 win and starting his campaign in style.

In another Round 1 fixture, three time eLigue 1 champion Fouma held automatic FC Pro Open qualifier Obrun to a 2-2 draw.

Tekkz was expected to bounce back stronger in Round 2, but things only got worse for the English player as he was thrashed 6-2 by Fouma. Fouma, the French champion, did not only beat Tekkz but also showed attacking masterclass that sent a clear warning to other players who had not yet faced him. Meanwhile, The1OS became one of the few players to record a clean sheet in this year’s FC Pro Open as he secured a 3-2 victory over Obrun.

Fouma once again showed his attacking prowess in Round 3 as he scored six goals against The1OS. In another Round 3 fixture, Obrun made things right after losing his first match of the night by beating Levi 3-2.

Winless after two games, Tekkz needed to defeat The1OS if he was to keep his hopes alive. But with 30 minutes left to play, he was trailing 4-1 against his Saudi Arabian opponent. Remarkably, he pulled one of the greatest comebacks to draw 4-4 at full time, thanks to Kylian Mbappé. However, that was the closest Tekkz came to seeing victory on Monday night. In the other Round 4 game, Levi bounced back from defeat to beat Fouma 1-0 and climb to the summit of Group D.

More drama followed in the fifth and final round of Match Week Four as Tekkz faced Obrun while Levi battled it out against The1OS. This was Tekkz’s final chance to secure three points, but once again, he failed to take it. The match was 2-2 heading to the hour mark but two clutch goals from Obrun helped him see off the English player, who has been impressive over the years. It was a night Tekkz will want to forget as soon as possible.

In the other fixture, Levi thrashed The1OS 4-0 to record his second clean sheet of the night and prove he is one of the best defensive players in the world.
