EA Close To Sign License Renewal With Premier League

Electronic Arts (EA) and the Premier League are reportedly close to sign a new commercial deal worth £488m ($522 million).

That would make it one of the largest agreements ever struck by English football’s top flight organization, as reported by Sky Sports. Twenty Premier League clubs were briefed at a meeting on February 10 that a new six-year partnership with the gaming company is on the brink of being finalized.

One club official mentioned that the new deal would deliver more than £80m annually, more than double the existing deal involving the two parties. The exclusive partnership will see the Premier League authentically represented in the future EA SPORTS FC franchise, after EA and FIFA ended their 30 years partnership recently.

The Premier League has been a long-time partner of EA and if confirmed, this new deal takes their relationship to the next level. The Premier League is one of the most popular and widely followed football leagues in the world, and the partnership will give EA the opportunity to tap into its massive global audience for the next 6 years.

Fans can also expect their favourite Premier League teams and stars accurately represented in EA’s next football game franchise.
