5 Icons Stories You Should Try in Player Career Mode!

EA Sports released new Icons for Player Career Mode on Friday (28/3). The ability to use Icon players in Career Mode was one of the additions in this year’s game.

This allows Career Mode players to try using a legendary group of players, without having to play Football Ultimate Team. EA Sports released five new Icons, and you can use these background stories and club suggestions before starting a new save!

Alessandro Del Piero

Club recommendation: Juventus

The World Cup winner made a name for himself at Juventus, where he became the club’s top scorer with 290 goals. During his time with The Old Lady, he won Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the UEFA Champions League.

That’s why it’s only fitting for Del Piero to return to Juventus, especially after their rough start to the season. You can either begin a fresh save from the start of the season or use Live Start Point to have Del Piero help Juventus get back on track and add another trophy to his collection.

Marco van Basten

Club recommendation: Ajax

The Dutch forward was part of AC Milan’s legendary trio alongside Ruud Gullit and Frank Rijkaard in the 1980s and 1990s. However, since AC Milan is unlicensed in EA Sports FC 25, it’s better to start your save with Ajax Amsterdam.

Marco van Basten began his career at Ajax, spending six years at the club and scoring 127 goals in the Eredivisie. You can choose to stay at Ajax and restore their European dominance or use the club as a stepping stone before moving elsewhere to rewrite van Basten’s career.

Emilio Butragueño

Club recommendation: Rayo Vallecano

Emilio Butragueño was one of Real Madrid’s legendary strikers, playing for the club from 1984 to 1995. Born in Madrid, he rose through the academy ranks, won multiple titles, and scored 123 goals for Los Blancos.

However, with Real Madrid already boasting a star-studded attack, especially after signing Kylian Mbappé, it might be better for Butragueño to start fresh at a new club. Another Madrid-based team, Rayo Vallecano, could be an exciting choice, offering a different challenge while keeping him close to his roots.

Franz Beckenbauer

Club recommendation: FC Bayern Munich

Franz Beckenbauer was the latest addition to the Icons roster in EA Sports FC 25. The German World Cup winner was added as part of Title Update #10 earlier this month.

FC Bayer Munich is the only club synonymous with Der Kaiser, where he spent 13 years of his playing career. Beckenbauer would fit perfectly into Bayern’s defense, making a great addition alongside Dayot Upamecano and Kim Min-jae.

Julie Foudy

Club recommendation: Angel City FC

Julie Foudy was a key player for the legendary United States Women’s National Team from 1988 to 2005. She made her name on the international stage, earning 274 caps and winning two FIFA Women’s World Cups and two Olympic gold medals.

During her club career, she played for Sacramento Storm and San Diego Spirit, though neither team is in the game. However, Angel City FC could be a perfect alternative, as Foudy is part of the club’s ownership group, making it a fitting destination for her return.
