Second UFL Open Beta Kicks Off on August 2nd

The football gaming community is abuzz as the second UFL Open Beta Weekend approaches. Set to begin on August 2nd, this two-day event offers players another chance to dive into the highly anticipated football video game UFL and contribute to its ongoing development.

Following the success of the first open beta in June, UFL developers have implemented a series of updates and improvements based on player feedback. The upcoming beta weekend promises to showcase these enhancements and provide a refined gameplay experience.

What’s New in UFL?

UFL, a free-to-play football video game, continues to evolve with each update. Featuring real footballers and an immersive metagame, UFL allows players to build and manage their dream team.

Here’s what’s new in version 0.55:

New Mechanics

  1. Reputation System Overhaul:
    • Reputation now serves as a capacity limit, summing the reputation points (RP) of all players.
    • Player reputation remains constant upon leveling up.
    • Players can freely buy and sell within the reputation limit.
    • Previous RP points have been converted to RP capacity for clubs.
  2. Card Skin System:
    • Introduction of set card skins and personal card skins.
    • Set card skins provide bonuses based on the number of players with the set and their rarity.
    • Personal skins are specific to individual players.
    • Compensation has been provided for previously obtained skins and packs.
  3. Perk System:
    • Perks are now categorized into innate and acquired.
    • Perks can have up to four levels and are displayed on the player’s card.
    • Players earn perk points as they reach higher ratings and can continue to earn points beyond a rating of 91.
    • Loaned players can also gain and level up perks.

Gameplay Improvements

  1. Goalkeeper Enhancements:
    • Improved performance based on ratings.
    • Better ball-catching and animation quality.
    • Enhanced response to saves and ball rebounds.
  2. Shot and Pass Adjustments:
    • Clearer skill differences in shots.
    • More accurate passes and smoother receiving animations.
    • Enhanced player positioning and fewer under-hit passes.
  3. Off-the-Ball Movement:
    • Retuned player speed, acceleration, and responsiveness.
    • Reduced sliding effect and increased dynamics at low speeds.
  4. AI Assist:
    • Smarter attacking and defensive behavior.
    • Improved positioning for free kicks and set pieces.
  5. Defensive Mechanics:
    • New sliding tackle animations.
    • Adjusted passive tackling and increased interception influence.
  6. Dribbling:
    • New feints and updated animations.
    • Enhanced ball control and maneuverability.

Audio and Visual Enhancements

  • Over 200 new player updates, including high-profile names like Antoine Griezmann and Luka Modrić.
  • Updated sound effects, stadium icons, and celebration cutscenes.
  • Improved replay cameras and commentator logic.
