The brand-new Grassroot Greats in EA Sports FC 25 finally launched on Friday (14/2). The promo is based on past and present players who started their footballing journey from local leagues, university programs, and lower tiers of footballing pyramids to the heights of the professional game.
To celebrate the return of Diego Maradona to the franchise, EA Sports released a special 77-rated Grassroots Greats player item. The item is based on the Argentine debut on the national team when he was just 16 years old on 27 February 1977, only four months after he made his professional debut for Argentinos Juniors.
How to get 77-rated Grassroot Greats Diego Maradona
Unlike the 96-rated Grassroot Greats Diego Maradona player item who’s only available on packs, the 77-rated one is available for all players in the game. To claim the card, you simply just have login to the game between February 14 and March 14, 2025.
You will then receive a pack called Diego’s Dream, containing the 77-rated Grassroot Greats player item. If you have more than 30 unopened packs stored in the game, you might not see the Diego’s Dream pack immediately, but you can still open it on the web app or the companion app.
How to EVO Grassroot Greats Diego Maradona
Inspired by Maradona’s rise to the top of footballing world, EA Sports released Evolutions based on the former Napoli star’s career. The Diego’s Dream I, II, and III EVO are available as free Evolution to evolve your 77-rated Grassroot Greats Diego Maradona item.
The Evolutions will turn him into a 89-rated player item, inspired by his triumph at the 1989 UEFA Cup final with Napoli. However, each Diego’s Dream Evolutions offer different final stats and positions, which you can choose to fit your squad.
Diego’s Dream I will give an Incisive Pass+ Playstyle with Playmaker++, Classic 10++, and Shadow Striker++ role. This Evolution will keep your Maradona as a CAM with no additional position.
Diego’s Dream II will give your 89-rated Maradona a ST as an additional position. You will also get Power Shot+ Playstyle with Advanced Forward++, Poacher++, and False 9++ role.
Last but not least, Diego’s Dream III will give your new Maradona three additional positions, and make him available to play as RM, RW, and LW. The card will also get a Technical+ Playstyle, and Inside Forward++ Role at RM, RW, and LW.
How to get 92-rated Grassroot Greats Diego Maradona
If you’re looking to improve your 89-rated Diego Maradona even further, EA Sports also released additional Evolution called El Pibe de Oro. However, unlike the previos Diego’s Dream Evolutions which are free, the El Pibe de Oro is a paid Evolution.
The Evolution will cost you 500,000 Coins or 1,000 FC Points to unlock. El Pibe de Oro will turn your 89-rated Grassroot Greats Diego Maradona to a 92-rated player item with an additional stats and one more Playstyle+.
You will get a +3 Overall, +2 Pace, +2 Shooting, +2 Passing, +2 Dribbling, and +4 Physicality on your Maradona item. The Evolution will also give you +1 Weak Foot and Finesse Shot+ Playstyle, which regarded as one of the best Playstyle in the game.
