Despite being in the early stages of development, GOALS is looking to become a serious contender in the esports landscape. With the game still in pre-alpha, the developers are eager to test the waters of competitive play, embracing community feedback to refine the experience.

Andreas Thorstensson, CEO and Creative Director, emphasizes the importance of integrating esports dynamics early on: “We know the game is early in development but just like playtesting we want to test sooner than later and learn together with the community.

The GOALS Community Cup is set to feature 64 contenders battling in a 1v1 format, all vying for the top prize in what promises to be an intense competition. The event is scheduled for a 7:00 pm CET kick-off on April 8th, inviting players to demonstrate their skills in this new football game.

A total of €2500 is up for grabs, with the champion of the evening securing a €1000 slice of the prize pie. The runner-up will be awarded €500, while the third and fourth-place finishers will each receive €250.

Additionally, the tournament will celebrate creative play by offering €500 for the Community’s Choice Best Goal, encouraging not just victory but also flair and innovation.

When Is Goals Game Coming Out?

Currently, in pre-alpha, GOALS is making strides in development, with playtesting ongoing for PC. The game’s anticipation builds as the developers hint at an early launch, bolstered by the success of the upcoming Community Cup.

Furthermore, GOALS app is now available, but only current playtesters can login using their GOALS account. The app allows you to open player packs and also fine-tune your line-up.

If you’re not among the playtesters then no need to worry as you can be part of the next batch by requesting access on their Steam page.

GOALS’ official twitter account announced at the start of 2023 that the game’s release window will be within “the next two years”. Once the game is ready, it is expected to launch worldwide on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC platforms.
