FC 25: Everything You Need To Know About RUSH

More and more FC 25 details are starting to pour in as EA release their Deep Dive trailers with the newest highlighting RUSH.

EA Sports FC 25 is bringing a fresh twist to football gaming with the new Rush Mode, a 5v5 format designed for fast-paced, small-sided matches available in Kick-Off, Ultimate Team, Clubs, and Career Mode. This game mode replaces VOLTA Football.

Here’s a rundown of what you can expect from this exciting new mode.

Key Features

Rush Mode comes with several exciting features designed to enhance your gameplay experience. Here are the key highlights:

  • Team Composition: Each team consists of 4 user-controlled players and 1 AI goalkeeper. If a player disconnects, the AI takes over seamlessly.
  • Race to Ball: Matches begin with a random ball launch as players race to secure possession.
  • Fluid Positioning: Players can switch roles dynamically during the game.

Ways to Play

There are multiple ways to enjoy Rush Mode, each offering unique gameplay experiences. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Rush in Clubs and Ultimate Team:
    • Clubs Rush: Team up with clubmates to climb global leaderboards and earn seasonal rewards.
    • Ultimate Team Rush: Bring items from your squad to build a dream team with friends and complete challenges for bonuses.
  • Rush in Career Mode and Kick-Off:
    • Kick-Off Mode: Play casual Rush matches with any team from the available leagues.
    • Career Mode Rush: Develop young talent through 5v5 games, giving you hands-on control over your Youth Academy.

Rules and Regulations

Rush Mode features specific rules and regulations to keep the game fair and exciting. Here are the main points:

  • Pitch Size and Layout: The Rush pitch is smaller and more square-shaped, promoting dynamic play. The penalty area and halfway circle are proportionately larger.
  • Match Length & Tie-breaking: Matches are 7 minutes long with no half-times. Tied games go to Golden Goal Extra Time and then to 1-on-1 Penalty Shootouts if needed.
  • Offside: New offside rules with dotted lines mark offside zones.
  • Blue Cards: Serious fouls result in a blue card, sidelining the player for 1 minute; accumulating two yellow cards also leads to a blue card.
  • Advantage Rule: The advantage rule is adapted for fair play, allowing delayed card issuance based on the outcome of the advantage played.
  • No Substitutions: Players focus on game flow without worrying about injuries or long-term stamina depletion.
  • Indirect Free Kicks: All free kicks require passing to a teammate as shooting directly at the goal is not allowed.
  • 1-on-1 Penalty Kicks & Shootouts: Penalty kicks are taken individually against the goalkeeper, with shootouts featuring alternating 1-on-1 shots and a 10-second time limit per shot.

Social Features

To enhance the social aspect of Rush Mode, several new features have been introduced:

  • Two-Player Celebrations: Celebrate goals with teammates using brief, fun interactions.
  • Quick Chat & Tactical Requests: Communicate with teammates through simple messages and request specific actions for better coordination.
  • Ping System: Signal your intentions to teammates with directional arrows, improving tactical communication.

Additional Features

Rush Mode also includes several additional features to improve your gameplay experience:

  • Rush Training Centre: Learn Rush gameplay strategies and mechanics at your own pace through dedicated lessons and training matches.
  • Rush Cameras & AR Coach: Choose from four new camera angles and use the AR Coach for real-time guidance and improved positioning.
  • Match Ratings: Ratings focus on teamwork and strategic contributions, rewarding assists, regaining possession, and other actions that benefit the team.
  • New Stadium: A new RUSH stadium will be available in FC 25 designed by Nike.
  • Matchday Experience: New broadcast overlays, cinematic intros with drones and new commentary from Fernando Palomo.

Rush Mode in FC 25 is all about fast-paced action, teamwork, and strategic gameplay. Whether you’re playing solo or with friends, there’s plenty to explore and enjoy in this exciting new mode.

EA SPORTS FC 25 will be released worldwide on September 27, 2024 and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
