EA’s Christmas gift is here for the FC 24 Ultimate Team players.
EA has gone crazy with releasing special items in packs. Less than a week ago, the Team 1 of Winter Wildcards, along with some of the best cards released throughout the course of EA FC 24, have been dropped into the packs. As if those were not enough, EA has released the second team of Winter Wildcards prematurely into the packs, which is an unexpected departure from the usual Friday schedule for new promo cards.
Even though the Winter Wildcards Team 2 is objectively not as star-studded as Team 1, there are some big names among the mix. Winter Wildcards Team 2 is headlined by Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku who got a 90 rated card, a +4 upgrade from his base card.
Team 2 also features Real Madrid Legend Emilio Butragueño, now with a 4-star skill moves upgrade. Some interesting cards, albeit slightly underpowered, like Fernando Hierro (99 Defending) and Ellyes Skhiri (99 Shooting) are also now a part of the Winter Wildcards family.

If you’re holding onto packs for Team of the Year, it might be a good idea to rethink that strategy. There are currently over 50 special cards in packs, and even if you end up with multiple untradable duplicates, you could use them to complete elite SBCs like POTM Mbappé, Zinedine Zidane, and Ruud Gullit. We’d suggest holding off on opening packs until after the Winter Wildcards promo ends.
EA hasn’t given us an exact timeframe for how long these cards will be in packs. While it’s expected that both Team 1 and Team 2 of Winter Wildcards will be out of packs by December 29th, EA has Winter Wildcards SBC releases scheduled until January 4, 2024. This leaves open the possibility that these cards will be in packs until Friday, January 5, 2024.
