The same source reported that the debut title from the freshly rebranded football series outperformed Hogwarts Legacy in physical sales, yet couldn’t surpass The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Interestingly, the Nintendo Switch version observed a slight increase in sales, marking an exception in this downward trend. The distribution of sales across platforms was led by PS5 with 53%, followed by Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Switch with 20%, 17%, and 9% respectively.
The uplift in sales for the Nintendo Switch version of FC 24 could likely be attributed to this being the first entry on the platform since 2019 with a significant upgrade thanks to the introduction of the Frostbite Engine, which might have made it more appealing to Switch gamers.
Some of the most important features introduced in this year’s game include HyperMotionV technology, PlayStyles, cross-play in Pro Clubs and Women’s Football in Ultimate Team.
