eFootball Championship Returns: Here’s What’s New

KONAMI’s eFootball Championship is back for the 2025 season, bringing another year of competitive esports action to football gaming fans worldwide. This year, the format remains familiar, with two distinct divisions:

  • eFootball Championship Open – open to all players worldwide.
  • eFootball Championship Club Event – featuring official partner clubs and leading to the prestigious World Finals in Tokyo.

With global qualifiers, regional matchups, and a major finale, this year’s competition continues KONAMI’s push to cement eFootball as a mainstay in football esports.

How the eFootball Championship Works

The eFootball Championship Open remains accessible to all players, offering everyone a chance to compete. Meanwhile, the Club Event provides a path for elite players to represent some of the biggest clubs in the world.

Club Event Structure

The Club Event consists of three online qualifiers, split into regional divisions:

  • Europe & Africa
  • Americas
  • Asia (West)
  • Asia (East), Oceania & Other Regions

Players who make it through the online qualifiers will advance to regional finals, where champions will secure a spot in the World Finals in Tokyo, set for July 2025.

Partner clubs such as Arsenal, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, and Manchester United will have dedicated representatives competing on their behalf, making this tournament a chance for players to step into the esports spotlight under the banner of legendary football teams.

How to Follow the Action

The eFootball Championship Club Event Finals will be streamed live across multiple platforms:

Match highlights and full event replays will also be available on YouTube, ensuring fans won’t miss a moment of the action.
