With the worldwide release of EA SPORTS FC 24, all official teams, leagues, and competitions featured in EA’s newest franchise have been revealed.
The split between FIFA and EA sparked fears that FC 24 might experience losses in terms of licenses. However, last year, the game developer assured fans that their new virtual football simulator would maintain the authenticity found in previous editions. They promised the inclusion of more than 19,000 licensed players, 700 teams, 100 stadiums, and 30 leagues in FC 24, thanks to individual partnerships forged over the past 30 years.
While the name has changed, there have been no significant alterations in league and team licenses in FC 24. Nonetheless, some teams have been removed, and a few clubs are not accurately represented in the game.
What Leagues and Teams Have been added in FC 24?
With the inclusion of Women’s Football in Ultimate Team this year, EA has expanded its women’s leagues catalog in FC 24 by adding the German Frauen-Bundesliga and Spanish Liga F, joining the Barclays Women’s Super League, the D1 Arkema, and the National Women’s Soccer League.
These two leagues are the only additions in FC 24, as EA has allocated the majority of their license budget to renew agreements with top leagues such the Premier League and LaLiga.
In terms of teams, apart from the newly-promoted clubs in existing leagues this season, we’ve seen the additions of Ajax, FC Zurich, Glasgow City, Rosengård, Slavia Praha, and SL Benfica in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, a competition that made its debut in the previous instalment.

What Teams Have Been Removed from FC 24?
Examining the team database, we can confirm the removal of South African clubs – Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Orlando Pirates – from FC 24. This marks the first time in many years that the series will not feature an African club.
Similarly, AFC Richmond has also been excluded. For fans of the acclaimed TV series, it’s disappointing to confirm that neither Ted Lasso nor his beloved team will make an appearance in the latest edition. Furthermore, in light of EA’s partnership with Nike for the new franchise, the game developer has dropped the adidas All-Star team from the Rest of World league.

Regarding unlicensed teams, as was the case last year, Serie A clubs – Napoli, AS Roma, Atalanta, and Lazio – will appear in-game with fictional names, kits, and crests due to their exclusive partnerships with KONAMI eFootball series. The same can be said about Serie B teams Brescia and Lecco, which will be recognized as ‘Brisigonza’ and ‘Borgocalcio’ respectively in FC 24.
Career Mode enthusiasts who relished taking on the International Job challenge will need to strategize anew this year, as only 30 national teams have been confirmed for FC 24. EA Sports has lost the rights to include the men’s national teams of Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, and China in FC 24. The women’s national teams of Brazil and China have also been removed from this year’s game edition.
What Competitions Are Available in FC 24?
Same to last year, all UEFA club competitions will feature in FC 24 with UEFA Women’s Champions League, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA Super Cup confirmed.
The CONMEBOL Copa Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana and CONMEBOL Recopa are also included in the game, featuring all South American clubs participating in this season’s group stages of the tournaments. Although the Brazilian League is not included in FC 24, all Brazilian clubs that qualified for the 2023 Copa Libertadores and Sudamericana will be available in-game with authentic names, kits and badges. However, due to the ongoing issue with Brazilian player licenses, all rosters of these clubs will feature fictional players.
Another area of the game that will be fictional is the FIFA World Cup tournament in Career Mode that was rebranded as the ‘Men’s International Cup’ for obvious reasons. However, with only 30 national teams present in the game, it is difficult to imagine how the competition will function.
With the World Cup out of the scheme, EA changed strategy and thanks to the recent partnership renewal with UEFA, players could get the much rumoured UEFA EURO 2024 that might drop as DLC next summer.
