EA Loses Inter and AC Milan Licenses to Konami’s eFootball

Inter and AC Milan are switching sides. Starting this new season, both iconic clubs will be exclusive to  Konami’s eFootball. This change means that neither club will be officially licensed in EA Sports FC 25, as confirmed by David Jackson, EA Sports FC’s VP of Brand, in an interview with Gazzetta.

For fans of EA Sports FC, this is disappointing news. Inter and AC Milan will appear in FC 25 with unlicensed names, kits, and crests, and the iconic San Siro stadium will also be absent, exclusively featured in eFootball 2025.

This move follows EA’s successful deals with Napoli and AS Roma, making the loss of the Milan clubs to Konami a notable setback. Atalanta and Lazio also remain exclusive to eFootball, continuing a trend of licensing challenges for EA in Serie A.

Despite these losses, FC 25 will still include 16 fully licensed Serie A clubs out of 20. Thanks to EA’s FIFPro license agreement, player likenesses and rosters for Inter, AC Milan, Lazio, and Atalanta will remain authentic, even if the teams’ visual elements are generic.

So, while the kits and crests might look off, the players themselves will still be spot on thanks to previous face scans and the new EA Cranium Tech feature.

If you’re all about the Derby della Madonnina, you’ll need eFootball for that authentic feel next season. FC 25 just won’t cut it in terms of true representation for this legendary Milan showdown.

While Konami has not yet revealed details about the next version of eFootball, EA Sports has already announced that FC 25 will be released on September 27th.
