Update v.4.1.0 Now Available in eFootball

Following the release of Update v.4.0.0, Konami has rolled out a new update packed with gameplay adjustments, fresh content, and bug fixes for eFootball.

Here’s a breakdown of what’s new in the update and what players can expect when they next log in.

Key Feature Additions and Changes

  • Uniform Ratings for Players: The algorithm for calculating player stats when applying uniform ratings has been changed. This tweak could impact player performances across the board, so expect some noticeable differences.
  • Set Piece Limits in Online Matches: In online games, the ability to select a thrower or kicker is now limited to once per set piece.

Content Updates and Additions

As with any major update, several in-game elements have been refreshed. Here’s what’s been updated:

  • Team data
  • Player photos and stats
  • 65 New and Update Faces
  • Manager photos and data
  • New Kits for Ligue 1 and more
  • Club and league emblems
  • Boots and balls
  • Pitch-side advertising boards
  • Media backdrops, stadium staff uniforms, and corner flags
  • New cinematics, animations, and commentary updates

New Season Data for Leagues and Competitions

eFootball has also updated the rosters and data to reflect the latest season for various leagues and competitions, including:

  • Ligue 2 BKT
  • AFC Champions League Elite
  • AFC Champions League Two *New*
  • AFC Asian Qualifiers

General Bug Fixes

The update also addresses some lingering bugs. One fix resolves an issue where players using Smart Assist near the touchline would act oddly to keep the ball in play during a finesse dribble. Additionally, a freezing issue that occurred when selecting a Skill Up mission and pausing during the loading screen has been patched, ensuring smoother gameplay.

This update seems like a necessary step to keep the game aligned with the latest season’s data while addressing some gameplay quirks. The tweaks to player stats and set piece limits might take some getting used to, but they add a bit more strategy. It’s not a game-changing update, but it does help smooth out a few issues and keep things running fresh. Definitely worth checking out if you’re a regular player.
