The World Cup winner was previously featured on FIFA Ultimate Team as an ICON, starting from FIFA 18 to FIFA 22. However, he was removed from the game at the end of FIFA 22 cycle, after a third party legal dispute.

The former Napoli and FC Barcelona star was removed from the game before EA Sports changed how the ICON ratings work, from three different versions to just one base ICON card. This make it interesting to see how the developers would rate Maradona under the new ICON rating system.

He’s set to be the first player in the brand-new Grassroots Greats campaign, which details haven’t been announced by EA Sports. However, there are rumors and leaks on social media that suggest the campaign will feature some of the most OP players from the history of Ultimate Team.
